Norwich City have lined up a late transfer window move for Swedish midfielder Oscar Hiljemark.

Sky Sports transfer watch blog claimed on Wednesday the Canaries could be in the market for the 23-year-old Palermo midfielder, after reporting they have made an enquiry to the Serie A club for the former Swedish Under-21 international.

City were touted with Hiljemark last week, along with interest from Premier League rivals Everton and Southampton, with the Italians prepared to offload the midfielder for £2.2m.

Hiljemark scored at the weekend in Palermo's 4-1 Serie A win over Udinese and has made 22 appearances for the club he only joined last summer from PSV Eindhoven on a four-year deal after helping his country win the U21 European Championships. Oscar Hiljemark has since graduated to the full Swedish squad and along with Norwich's Martin Olsson came off the bench in the second leg of a play-off aggregate win over Denmark in November that booked Sweden's place at next summer's Euro 2016 finals.

Alex Neil made it clear on Friday he is still keen to do 'a couple more bits of business' ahead of next Monday's deadline after unveiling Steven Naismith and Timm Klose.

The transfer window deadline is Monday at 11pm.
