Nathan Redmond is emerging as Stoke City's top summer transfer target, with reports of a fresh £5m enquiry for the England Under-21 international.
The Potters and Southampton were previously linked with the 20-year-old, who moved to the Canaries 12 months ago from boyhood club Birmingham, but according to the Telegraph on Monday Mark Hughes has not been put off by City's initial reluctance to sanction a deal for the attacking midfielder.
Stoke have renewed their interest after encountering problems trying to tie up the permanent signing of Liverpool's £7m-rated Moroccan international Oussama Assaidi.
The Telegraph report Assaidi's wage demands could scupper a move to the Britannia after an impressive loan stint. Neil Adams wants to keep hold of his key men and Redmond played the full 90 minutes in Sunday's 1-0 Championship defeat at Wolves. Robert Snodgrass and Ricky van Wolfswinkel are the only departures from Carrow Road this season from the current squad. Redmond has scored one goal in 35 appearances since following former boss Chris Hughton to Carrow Road.
The Birmingham-bred attacking midfielder was linked with Swansea City in the January transfer window but Redmond made it clear at the time he saw his future at Carrow Road.
