One of the country's most experienced officials will take charge of the shoot-out for promotion between Norwich City and Middlesbrough.

Premier League referee Mike Dean was the man in the middle on Sunday when Manchester United and Arsenal locked horns at Old Trafford. But on Monday he will be running the rule over two teams that are trying to join them in the top flight.

The 46-year-old has overseen 38 matches this season, dishing out 131 yellow cards and seven red, with just three of those fixtures coming in the second tier. Dean last officiated the Canaries – who will wear yellow against Boro and be in the stadium's East dressing room – when they were beaten 1-0 at Fulham in April 2014.

The assistant referees for the Championship play-off final have been named as Stuart Burt and Simon Long. The man who took charge of City's semi-final second-leg triumph over Ipswich Town, Roger East, will be the fourth official.
