Promotion and relegation may be ruled out but captain Ivo Pinto insists Norwich City's squad have not given up on their season.

Losing 4-1 at QPR on Monday left Daniel Farke's team with just one win from their last 10 games as a mid-table finish beckons.

'We have to fight for this shirt, to show that we deserve to wear it and to play for this big club,' Pinto said. 'If we have already given up because we are not getting promoted or going down then that is our mistake because we need to respect the club and this shirt.

'If we do not do that then I don't know what we are doing here, if any players are thinking like that then it is not good enough.'

With Aston Villa heading for Carrow Road on Saturday with automatic promotion still in their sights, the right-back wants to help spark a reaction.

He continued: 'If we want a better ending of the season we need to change things, we need to discuss what happened (at QPR) because it was not good enough, this can't happen, especially after the first 40 minutes.

'We should stop, we should breathe and think about it because we need to show that we deserve to wear this shirt because this is a big club and if you are not fighting for this shirt then this must stop.
