Its a day many fans try to forget but four years ago today Norwich City saw one of their worst defeats to date against Colchester United.

The result lives long in the memory for Norwich City fans, and one that changed the future of the football club.

Seven goals conceded and two season tickets thrown at the dugout in disgust, Bryan Gunn's Norwich City opened their League One campaign on August 8, 2009 in nightmare fashion with a 7-1 Carrow Road defeat to Colchester United.

The rest, as they say, is history and - thanks largely to the architect of Gunn's downfall that day, Paul Lambert - Norwich City went on to win League One, finish runners-up in the Championship the following season and are now enjoying their third consecutive season in the Premier League.
