Mladen Petric was the toast of Fulham after a two-goal salvo on his Premier League debut.

'I am very happy,' said Mladen. 'Not only because of my performance, but because we had an amazing start which will be very important for us throughout the rest of the season.

'All of us played a very good game; we defended very well – I think thye had just one or two chances to score – and we scored five goals which means that we played very well today. I'm happy that we didn't concede and I'm especially happy for Alex Kacaniklic that he scored his first goal today.

'I'm happy I was able to provide the assist but most important were the three points and that we played a good game altogether as a team. It wasn't just one or two of us who played well.'

Petric was also happy with the welcome he received from the home fans.

'The fans were great today,' he said. 'It was a good feeling to have them on my side this time unlike last time when I was here! I'm looking forward to playing at the Cottage again.'
