Our Norwich City correspondent Paddy Davitt has posted his marks following the Canaries' Carrow Road loss to Preston
City fans have been voting since the final whistle and this is Paddy's verdict on Alex Neil's troops.
• Michael McGovern
Kept Norwich in the game with key stops from Jordan Hugill and two from Callum Robinson. Badly let down by his outfield players on the Preston goal. 7.0
• Russell Martin
Back on old turf down the right with Ivo Pinto a late absentee. Circumspect going forward. In the wars late on. 6.0
• Ryan Bennett
Difficult when thrown into the fray at such short notice. Looked vulnerable in the opening quarter and left Hugill unattended for his big chance. 6.0
• Timm Klose
Finished with his head swathed in bandages and two stitches. The headache from Norwich's poor display may last longer. 6.0
• Martin Olsson
Perhaps nothing better illustrated City's struggle more than Olsson's limited attacking profile. 6.0
• Graham Dorrans
Looked up on numerous occasions and saw the massed ranks of blue shirts. Tempo was too slow and ponderous. 6.0
• Alex Tettey
Not in the side for his passsing ability but coughed up possession an alarming number of times. Second best in the physical skirmishes as well. 5.0
• Jacob Murphy
Alex Neil appeared to indicate after the defeat it is needs must with City's right-sided injuries but Murphy's productivity has dropped considerably. 5.5
• Wes Hoolahan
In sharp contrast to Rotherham's defensive work, Preston targeted the Irishman and swarmed around him. Brief flashes of quality in tight spaces. Set up Cameron Jerome early on and picked out Alex Pritchard for his header. 6.5
• Robbie Brady
Spent most of the first-half in congested central areas adding to the traffic. Sacrificed after the break. Looked disinterested. 5.0
• Cameron Jerome
Denied by Chris Maxwell inside the opening minute. Then the post with a rising angled shot after the break. One of the few forward-thinking players who showed anything like his level. 7.0
City substitutes
• Nelson Oliveira 5.5
Too eager to impress in a rare longer first-team cameo. Careless in possession.
(for Jacob Murphy, 56)
• Alex Pritchard 7.0
Looping header was cleared off the Preston line. Free kick was tipped over. Generally provided a much-needed spark. Clamour for a regular start will continue to grow.
(for Robbie Brady, 56)
