The draw for the FA Youth Cup third round has handed Norwich City Under-18s a home tie against Barnsley.

Neil Adams led the Canaries to the club's second triumph in the competition in 2013 and City are the only club to have lifted the trophy other than mega-rich Chelsea in the past six seasons.

That squad included Josh and Jacob Murphy, Carlton Morris, Harry Toffolo and Cameron McGeehan, all of whom have gone on to make it as professionals.

Barnsley have never won the competition and their academy does not have category one status, so the Yorkshire side's U18s compete in the second tier Professional Development League, while Norwich are in the U18 Premier League.

Last season City made it to the fifth round, David Wright's squad winning 5-1 at Watford and 4-0 at Burnley before losing 2-0 to Tottenham in Stevenage. The fixture and venue for the date are yet to be confirmed but must be completed by Saturday, December 16.
