Norwich City's teenage midfielder Jacob Murphy is poised to complete a loan move to League One promotion hopefuls Swindon Town.

Murphy's short term deal at the County Ground until March 8 will be officially sealed on Saturday when the Football League's emergency loan window opens. The midfielder is the latest of the club's young talent to leave the club on a temporary basis in a bid for first team football along with Cameron McGeehan at Luton and Jamar Loza at Orient. Murphy made his senior Norwich debut in last month's FA Cup third round home tie against Fulham.

'Jacob has made great strides in the past two seasons and has a bright future,' said Chris Hughton. 'He's going to Swindon to continue his development and gain him valuable experience and first team games at a good level. 'What we have been quite consistent on here is when younger lads go out on loan it is specifically to get experience. Not just in actually playing in the team. That is the ultimate aim but the experience of being around a different environment and first team football. Any young player who goes is to benefit us.'
