Norwich City's popular home shirt has won an online vote to decide the best home football shirt in the Premier League.

The poll - held by www.football-shirts.co.uk - saw the Canaries' 2011/12 home shirt claim 75.5pc of the vote ahead of Manchester City with 11.3pc, Newcastle United with 7.1pc and Manchester United with 6.1pc.

The shirt became an online hit after a video launching the new kit this summer became hugely popular on the internet for its Italian theme, because of the club's new kit manufacturer Errea.

The success sees the Canaries claim the website's Premier League Shirts Cup 2011/12.

A story announcing the winner on the website states: 'It was evident from the early stages that the Canaries were favourites for this title, as they built a strong vote advantage over the other contenders.

'We congratulate all fans of the Canaries shirt, and thank everyone for your support in voting for your preference.'
