Norwich City winger Josh Murphy was the star of the show for the England's Under-19s this afternoon.

The 18-year-old opened the scoring for Noel Blake's under-19 side in the fifth minute of a friendly in Hungary, which England went on to win 4-1.

Playing on the left of midfield, Murphy went on to set up Barnsley's Paul Digby in the 43rd minute and Derby County's Mason Bennett in the 57th minute, with Aston Villa's Callum Robinson wrapping up the win in the second half.

It was Murphy's first goal for the England Under-19s, in his eighth appearance, and his performance was described in the match report on the FA's official website as 'outstanding'.

It continues an exciting start to the season for the Downham Market youngster. He scored a spectacular goal after coming off the bench to make his Norwich debut at the end of September, in the 3-2 extra-time victory at Watford in the second round of the Capital One Cup.

He was then given his first taste of Premier League action in the disappointing 7-0 defeat at Manchester City, coming on at half-time when Chris Hughton's side were already 4-0 down.

His twin brother Jacob, a fellow member of Norwich City's FA Youth Cup winning side, was also on the bench for the game at the Global Football Park in Telki, Hungary.

Jacob replaced Josh in the 63rd minute to make his first appearance at under-19 level.

The match offered Blake and his team a chance to prepare for the UEFA European U19 Championship, which is being held in Hungary next July, although they still have to qualify having finished top of their first qualifying round group in Slovenia in October.
