Norwich City winger Josh Murphy earned his second England Under-20s cap this evening, coming on as a substitute in a friendly with Canada.

The winger came on for the final 30 minutes of the match, played at Bournemouth's Goldsands Stadium, with the score at 1-1 after Arsenal's Chuba Akpom had put England ahead in the 15th minute.

Canada had equalised shortly after the break but Baily Cargill, who plays for host club Bournemouth, looked to have snatched the win with five minutes remaining with a header from a Matt Grimes corner.

Canada hit back deep into injury-time however, to rescue a 2-2 draw.

Murphy – who has scored three goals for the Canaries this season and made his first Championship start – replaced U20s captain Lewis Baker, of Chelsea, in the 61st minute.

The 19-year-old could be in action again on Monday when the U20s, managed by former Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd, take on Portugal U20s in Coimbra.

The City academy product scored in a 6-0 victory over Romania in Telford on his U20s debut in September and was previously capped 11 times at under-19 level.

Murphy's twin brother, Jacob, made his U20s debut against Holland last month after Josh had pulled out of the squad for the Four Nations Tournament in Holland to rest a heel problem.

Jacob has since joined City's struggling Championship rivals Blackpool on loan until early February and the winger scored on his Championship debut in a 2-2 draw with Fulham, but was not included alongside his brother in the latest U20s squad.

• Canaries midfielder Alex Tettey was in the Norway squad for a friendly against Estonia in Oslo tonight, but did not play in a 1-0 defeat ahead of a Euro 2016 qualifier against Azerbaijan in Baku on Sunday.

• Another City academy product could be in international action tonight, as striker Jamar Loza is away with the Jamaica senior squad.

The 20-year-old made his first start for the Reggae Boyz last month, earning his third cap in a 1-0 friendly defeat in Japan.

He is part of the Jamaican squad contesting the Caribbean Cup regional tournament, starting in Montego Bay against Martinique tonight at 8pm (1am UK time).

The hosts are due to play their other Group B opponents, Anitgua and Barbuda, on Friday and Haiti on Sunday. The winner of the tournament earns an automatic berth to the Copa Centennial Cup to be played in the USA in 2016 and a place in the CONCACAF Gold Cup next summer.

Jamaica's Reggae Boyz have already been invited to compete in the Copa America next year in Chile.
