Alex Neil insists Lewis Grabban's exit will not end up costing Norwich City in the transfer window.
The frontman's departure to Bournemouth has widely been reported as boosting the Canaries' coffers by £8million. But City's boss is sure they will not be held to ransom – or left striker-light – as rumours continue to circle that they will reinvest that money before the February 1 deadline (11pm).
Neil said: 'I think it depends on each deal's merit. I think there's players in other squads that might be surplus to requirements while others might be highly sought after so his transfer fee is going to be higher.
'They're the simple facts of the game and I don't think it's going to have any burden on the business that we are trying to do.'
With supposed long-term target Benik Afobe also joining Bournemouth, Norwich are reported to be stepping up their interest in Crystal Palace hitman Dwight Gayle.
'We've got three strikers in the building at the moment,' added Neil, who takes his side to Stoke tonight.
'Dieumerci Mbokani, Cameron Jerome and Kyle Lafferty. I think they're completely different players so we've got three different variations at the moment. Obviously we're still looking to strengthen our squad as well so we're fine in that department just now.'
