6 Steven Whittaker: Danny Rose tested him to the full. May feel he could have stopped Sunderland's goal at source. Fantastic work-rate.
7 Ryan Bennett: Another hugely mature display. One fantastic near post block foiled Connor Wickham after the interval.
8 Sebastien Bassong: Showed predatory intent to notch Norwich's first. Held City together during Sunderland's revival. Leader.
6 Javier Garrido: Solid and dependable against a tricky customer in Adam Johnson. Had to curb his usual attacking instincts.
7 Alex Tettey: Covered acres as usual. Needed reverse gear for most of the second period.
7 Bradley Johnson: Could claim a double assist of sorts for both Norwich goals. Superb cushioned pass for the second.
7 Robert Snodgrass: Free-kick assist for Norwich's first goal. Failed to adequately deal with Danny Rose for the visitors' reply.
7 Wes Hoolahan: Showed bravery to get on the ball during Sunderland's best spells to inject some calm back into proceedings.
7 Anthony Pilkington: Admirable composure to cap a fantastic passing move for Norwich's second. Dominated Phil Bardsley.
7 Grant Holt: Set the tone early. Caused havoc for Sunderland's two centre-backs. Selfless again for the cause.

6 Simon Mignolet: Slight question mark over Norwich's first goal in terms of anticipation. Looked suspect on set pieces.
5 Phil Bardsley: too often caught out of position. emphasized by his walkabout for Norwich's second goal.
5 Carlos Cuellar: touch unfortunate with the deflection for Norwich's first, but could not handle the physicality of Grant Holt.
5 Matthew Kilgallon: Booked within three minutes. Skied a golden chance over in the second half. Not his finest 90 minutes.
7 Danny Rose: Came to the party in both halves. unlike the majority of his team-mates. Set up goal and numerous opportunities.
6 Adam Johnson: early shot hinted at an afternoon to remember. One strike in the second period cleared off the line.
6 Sebastian Larsson: Worked one cute corner routine with Danny Rose that caught City off guard. Wasted in central midfield.
7 Craig Gardner: Superb goal. Struck a post with a thunderous free-kick and generally Sunderland's heart beat.
6 James McClean: Flitted in and out of the contest. too often strayed into central areas with little or no space to operate.
6 Stephane Sessegnon: Denied by Mark Bunn in the second period. One excellent cross for Connor Wickham sparked the second half blitz.
5 Steven Fletcher: Injury curtailed his afternoon and Sunderland's woeful first half showing limited his chance to impress.
