Declan Rudd says he can't be a spy in the camp for manager Alex Neil when his Preston team head to Norwich on Wednesday night – because there are so few familiar faces in the Canaries squad.

Rudd left Carrow Road just over a year ago and in the meantime City have made a raft of changes – Alex Tettey, Ivo Pinto and Timm Klose are likely to be the only former team-mates on show in yellow and green.

'I have had a chat with a few of the lads who have been asking 'what's he like, or what's he like?', but to be honest I don't really know any of the individuals there at the minute,' he told Preston's official web site.

'There has been a massive turnaround in the last year, so it is a little bit hard for me to give any insight on any of the players, because I have never met any of them.

'It is a completely different club to when I left, but they have brought in some good players, so it will be a good test for us.

'Daniel Farke has got rid of the players he wanted to get rid of and brought in his own men and as a manager, as long as you are given the time to do that, then that's what you want.

'He has done that, but whether the players he has brought in are as good as the ones he got rid of is a matter of opinion, so we have to go there and take it to them.

'I have got friends and family who are season ticket holders; I grew up watching them as a kid and was signed at the club from the age of eight years old, so there are a lot of memories though, but they are in the past.

'I have come up here and am having the best playing time of my career, once again, like the last time I came here, so there are memories down there, but there are memories here and hopefully many more to make.'

Preston will be without Paul Gallagher for the Carrow Road clash after the midfielder received a retrospective three-match suspension after for a clash with Joe Allen during Saturday's match against Stoke City.

Gallagher was charged with violent conduct following an incident that was not seen by the match officials, but which was caught on video. The charge was accepted and means Gallagher misses the games at Norwich, at Derby County on Saturday and next week's Carabao Cup tie at Leeds.
