Player ratings for both Norwich City and Manchester City following their Premier League clash.

• Norwich City

6 John Ruddy: Apologised for his display post-match. No need. Would have been worse but for his second-half defiance.

6 Russell Martin: Created two decent chances for Grant Holt with his attacking intent. Kept a tight rein on Samir Nasri.

5 Ryan Bennett: One pass back he would wish to forget. One excellent late block from Micah Richards. Tough lessons.

5 Elliott Ward: Paid a heavy price for giving the ball away to David Silva for City's opener. Up against world class operators.

6 Adam Drury: Hard shift against some class movement from the visitors. Can claim an assist for Norwich's second half reply.

6 Elliott Bennett: One or two decent deliveries during Norwich's best spells. May feel should have kept Aguero wide for fourth.

5 Bradley Johnson: Tough ask to try and break up the play in the first period. Sacrificed at the interval.

6 Jonny Howson: Showed plenty of defensive responsibility, but over-run like the rest when the visitors moved through the gears.

6 Anthony Pilkington: Prominent in a bright opening period from the hosts. Maybe paid for his Tottenham exertions.

6 Grant Holt: Looked City's best chance for goals. One header cleared off the line. One or two other sighters either side of interval.

6 Aaron Wilbraham: Dropped deep with some intelligent movement in search of the ball. Denied by Gareth Barry after the break.

Subs: Andrew Surman (for Pilkington) 7, Wes Hoolahan (for Johnson) 7, Steve Morison (for Wilbraham) 5

• Manchester City

6 Joe Hart: One or two decent stops but a weak punch contributed massively to Norwich goal. Goalkicking questionable.

7 Pablo Zabaleta: Denied twice by John Ruddy in the second period. Caught out positionally perhaps for Norwich's goal.

7 Vincent Kompany: Relished the physical challenge of trying to subdue Grant Holt. Key man at the back for the Blues.

7 Joleon Lescott: Looks much more secure in tandem with Kompany. Should go to the Euros on this form.

7 Gael Clichy: Quality operator. Happy to stay in the shadows, but his attaking intent created the sixth for Adam Johnson.

7 Nigel De Jong: Combative influence. Dutchman's recent form saw him preferred to Yaya Toure from the off.

7 Gareth Barry: Excellent foil for the other attacking elements. One fine near post block to deny Aaron Wilbraham.

7 David Silva: Spaniard pounced on Elliott Ward's stray pass to tee up the opener. Delightful to watch in full flow.

9 Carlos Tevez: You might not like the man, but the footballer is pure quality. Pace, power, aggressive intent.

6 Samir Nasri: Not the same marauding influence as in the corresponding fixture at the Etihad.

9 Sergio Aguero: Sublime. Norwich had no answer to his movement and deadly finishing. World class talent.

Subs: Yaya Toure (for Nasri) 7, Adam Johnson (for Silva) 7, Micah Richards (for Tevez) 5
