Norwich City U18s 2, Reading U18s 0

Two second half goals from Ricky Martin's side saw Norwich City take all three points against a Reading side who have, up until their visit to Colney, been unbeaten this season.

Martin named the Murphy twins Josh and Jacob in the starting line up and it was Josh who created the first opening curling a shot beyond the far post.

Reece Hall-Johnson found himself one on one with Royals keeper Jon Henly who did well to save at the feet of the Canaries striker.

Remi Matthews in the City goal dropped the ball under pressure but he made amends by saving a snap shot before the ball was cleared.

Henly then made a save at his near post from a low shot from Josh Murphy, whilst not to be outdone by his brother Jacob Murphy forced Henly into yet another save after the visitors failed to clear after a corner.

Hall-Johnson was then denied by Henly and in the dying minutes of the first half it was Henly again coming to the rescue of Reading saving from Jacob Murphy.

As the second half got underway Josh Murphy once again was foiled by Henly, but on the hour mark Norwich finally broke the deadlock with some persistance by City on the edge of the area allowing Hall-Johnson a low shot that Henly managed to get his hand to but couldn't stop the ball finding the net.

With 71 minutes on the clock Norwich doubled their advantage when Sam Kelly released Drmola who let fire with a near post shot that cannoned off the post into the net.

Drmola went close with a shot that was deflected over the bar but, with time running out for Reading, City had the final say when Matthews made a good save to deny James Murphy.
