Norwich City boss Alex Neil is poised to unveil his first new summer signing on Wednesday after completing a deal to sign Liverpool’s highly-rated teenager Sergi Canos.
The 19-year-old has agreed a four-year deal, with the option for another year, following talks in Norfolk over recent days after City met the Reds’ £2.5m valuation. Canos snubbed interest from City’s Championship rivals Bristol City, who also met Liverpool’s asking price, which could rise to £4.5m with a series of add ons and a sell-on fee.
The Independent report City will announce Canos’ arrival on Wednesday after the attacking midfielder rejected a deal to stay at Liverpool. Canos made his Premier League debut for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the final game of last season at West Brom but came to prominence during a season-long loan stint in the Championship at Brentford where he scored seven goals in 38 league appearances for the Bees.
Fulham and QPR were also tracking Canos but Neil is believed to have won the race to bring the talented teenager to Norfolk.
