Preston boss Simon Grayson weighs up a potential reunion with Norwich City keeper Declan Rudd.
The Sun report on Friday Grayson wants the 26-year-old to return to Deepdale. Rudd spent 16 months in two loan spells at the Lilywhites earlier in his career, playing a key role in Preston's run to the League One play-offs in 2014.
City head to Preston on Easter Monday in the Championship and Grayson is reportedly keen to recruit Rudd on a free transfer to provide competition with current first choice Chris Maxwell.
Rudd, currently on loan in the third tier at Charlton, is out of contract at Carrow Road this summer but there is an option that can be taken up to keep the academy product at his parent club. The Diss-bred keeper appeared surplus to requirements under former City chief Alex Neil, after being farmed out following the close-season signing of Northern Ireland international Michael McGovern.
Rudd's future, along with a number of City's senior personnel approaching the end of current deals, will be decided in the coming weeks with new sporting director Stuart Webber keen to appoint a head coach at the start of potentially hectic summer rebuild.
Addicks' chief Karl Robinson has already made it clear he would be keen in to retain Rudd next season if Norwich is prepared to off-load the keeper.
