Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill is in the running for Norwich City's head coach vacancy.
New sporting director Stuart Webber has been heavily linked with Uwe Rosler, Garry Monk and David Wagner to become Alex Neil’s long term replacement at Carrow Road, but the impressive O’Neill is reportedly also being monitored.
The Sun on Sunday claimed City may be tempted to switch their attentions to O’Neill if they fail to land Rosler. The German is now preparing for a League One play-off semi-final against Bradford, starting on Thursday, after missing out on automatic promotion on Sunday.
Weekend reports claimed Rosler would quit Fleetwood but the German indicated in his post-match media his focus now is on toppling the Bantams and guiding ambitious Fleetwood to Wembley.
The Sun on Sunday reported extricating Rosler could prove expensive for City’s top brass, with his number two Rob Kelly part of any proposed package.
O’Neill is currently leading Northern Ireland’s bid to reach the 2018 World Cup finals after enhancing his reputation at Euro 2016. O’Neill guided Northern Ireland to their first-ever appearance at the finals, which ended at the knock-out stages.
The 47-year-old, who had been linked with the Canaries in the past prior to the appointment of Alex Neil, previously managed Brechin City and Shamrock Rovers before taking charge of Northern Ireland six years ago.
