Norwich City have returned with a bid reportedly in excess of £10m for Fulham striker Ross McCormack.

Skysports report on Friday morning City are determine to land the Scottish international forward and remain in advanced discussions with the Cottagers.

McCormack reportedly has a £12m release clause in his current deal after signing a new four-year contract at Craven Cottage in February to ward off interest from Middlesbrough.

Alex Neil sanctioned the departure of Ricky van Wolfswinkel on Thursday and has made it clear in recent days he wants a proven Championship frontman to spearhead the Canaries' promotion bid.

Cameron Jerome and Kyle Lafferty are now the only senior strikers on the books at Carrow Road ahead of the league kick-off at Blackburn Rovers on August 6.

Neil did suggest after the midweek 3-0 friendly win over Coventry City he is not prepared to wait indefinitely to land his top striking target.
