Norwich City are in competition with Glasgow Rangers over the signing of Bolton's Luca Connell.

The youngster's contract with the cash-strapped League One side is up this summer and a move is almost inevitable.

The Daily Mail claims Rangers now lead the race to sign Connell, 18, this summer.

They also claim that there are plenty of other interested parties, but that Rangers and City head the queue, while Southampton, Wolves, Leeds and Preston North End are also interested.

Connell, who started eight Championship games for Wanderers last season and has represented the Republic of Ireland at Under-17 to Under-19s level, is a holding midfielder who can also play at left-back - and would reportedly cost around £300,000 as a compensation fee.
