Wes Hoolahan has been ruled out of Norwich City's final Championship away trip of the season to Leeds United with a hip injury.

Hoolahan and Alex Tettey (back) will not travel to Yorkshire for Saturday's Elland Road clash but Timm Klose returns to the squad after his knee injury.

Interim chief Alan Irvine, however, is not ruling out Hoolahan for the rest of the campaign with QPR set to visit Carrow Road on May 7.

Irvine's own future beyond QPR remains unresolved. The club's board have indicated they want the experienced coach to stay but Irvine admits that hinges on Stuart Webber's choice of head coach. Webber aims to appoint Alex Neil's long term replacement within two to three weeks of the end of the campaign.

'Nothing has changed. I don't know what will happen,' he said, speaking at Colney on Friday afternoon. 'I guess I won't know until the new head coach is appointed and he makes it clear first of all whether he needs the current staff to be moved out so he can bring in his own people. Or whether he needs to have a chat with the current members of staff before making that decision himself and then the last part is what the current staff think if there is a role for them.

'It is in other people's hands. I may have a decision to make. I may not. I have no choice but to wait. I am under contract to the club. If they want me to wait that longer then so be it. I will wait to be told what the club want me to do next.'

Hoolahan is expected to return to training next week.

'I don't think we are talking the end of the season. I think he will be okay to train next week. We have an extra day as well before QPR so I am hopeful Wes will be okay,' said the Scot. 'Alex Tettey is still struggling with the back problem. Louis Thompson (Achilles) and Matt Jarvis (knee) are longer term and Michael McGovern won't travel after the sad news of his Mum. He is obviously back with his family. Quite simply I've told Michael to take whatever time he needs off because that's much more important and our thoughts are with his family. Timm is in the squad. He has been training all week so that is good news.'

Irvine confirmed he is making no concessions to his Leeds' plans, regarding the younger players, with the club's development squad in Premier League Cup semi-final action at Reading on Sunday.

'It won't have any bearing,' he said. 'The Under-23s are a group who deserve a chance to play in that semi-final and we hope they get into the final. We won't be putting out a much stronger team at Reading. They deserve the chance as they are the group of lads who have got the club there. It is good experience for them. Would we like to win the competition? Yes, but it is about the journey and the experience and exposing them to get the benefit in later years.'
