Interim chief Alan Irvine confirmed at his pre-match press call on Tuesday he will make a late decision on the fitness of the Republic of Ireland international, who missed the weekend's 1-0 league defeat at Aston Villa with a thigh injury.

Dorrans suffered bruising to his ankle but could be back in contention for Reading's visit to Carrow Road this coming weekend. Irvine must make a second enforced change with Ivo Pinto joining Mitchell Dijks on the sidelines after his red card at Villa Park.

'Graham is not available again. We are hoping he is going to be okay for Saturday,' said Irvine. 'It is a bit of bone bruising to his ankle but it should settle down. We have had the scans and they have come back all clear, so it is not more serious. It could have been all sorts of things. Thankfully it has not proved to be too bad.

'Wes has trained again today. I am just waiting for an update on him to make a decision on whether we take him or leave it. The last thing we want to do is bring him back too early and he is out for the rest of the season. We have a lot of games this month. I have to have another chat with the physio to decide whether we take him or leave him here. Everybody else is okay from Saturday.

'Of course Ivo is now suspended. I have it in mind what I will do. Obviously I am not going to tell David Wagner but we have ideas and different possibilities. It is a difficult game to go without your two first choice full backs, because of the way Huddersfield play. They are very effective in terms of their movement on the flanks so we have to make sure we do the best we can to solve that problem. There is a lack of time, in terms of preparation, but there are different ways of doing it. We have worked hard on analysis, we have done some work on the training field that is relevant to the game but not as much as you would like to do if you had more time.'

Youssouf Mulumbu is in the travelling party but Matt Jarvis will not be involved after the duo featured in last week's Premier League International Cup semi-final defeat to Sunderland. None of the club's senior players featured in the development squad's 1-0 Premier League Cup win against Liverpool's Under-23s on Monday.

'Matt played 90, Youssouf played a fair bit and big Mitch as well,' said Irvine. 'Youssouf is in the squad (for Huddersfield), Matt is not in the squad. He is not ready yet. He has played one 90 minutes all season, including pre-season, so he is still a bit away. None of those lads were involved at Liverpool on Monday. The young lads did really well. They have done well this season.'
