Coventry City have decided against letting Clive Platt join Championship rivals Norwich City on loan.
The Canaries were reportedly interested in taking the 33-year-old striker for the last eight games of the season.
But caretaker boss Andy Thorn today told the Coventry Telegraph: 'He's going nowhere.
'We are absolutely down to the bare bones and cannot afford to let anyone out at this stage of the season.'
Platt played under Lambert at Colchester United and scored twice in the 7-1 win at Norwich on the opening day of the 2009-10 season, the result that triggered the chain of events leading to Lambert's arrival as manager at Carrow Road 10 days later.
