Norwich City defender Zak Whitbread is attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs, according to Sky Sports. The 28-year-old central defender, who joined City from Millwall in 2010, is out of contract at the end of the season.
Sky claim a number of clubs have been alerted to the fact that Whitbread is set to become a free agent if he cannot agree a new deal at Carrow Road. Everton, Wigan, Sunderland, along with newly promoted Reading and Southampton, are all said to be considering a Bosman deal.
Meanwhile the Canaries have again been linked with Nottingham Forest player of the season Garath McCleary. He is available on a free transfer and looks set to snub a new contract offer at the City Ground. According to the Daily Record, the 24-year-old midfielder is wanted by Celtic. But, it is claimed, City boss Paul Lambert could scupper his old club's hopes with a douible swoop to include Chris Gunter.
One national newspaper claims Lambert is lining up a bid of 2m for Derby Country midfielder Jeff Hendrick, a Republic of Ireland Under-21 international.
