Norwich City supporters heading to Chelsea's Stamford Bridge this weekend have been advised to allow extra time for their journey amid tightened security following the recent terrorist attacks in Paris.

Chelsea released an official statement on Thursday afternoon confirming fans can expect more checks before they are allowed into Stamford Bridge for the 3pm kick-off on Saturday.

All Premier League clubs have also announced the French national anthem will be played before the game in an act of remembrance for those who lost their lives in the multiple attacks on the French capital last Friday.

The statement read: 'Supporters attending Saturday's Premier League game against Norwich City are advised to arrive early due to additional security measures and to support tributes to the victims of last week's tragic events in Paris.

'The club will be increasing its security controls inside and around Stamford Bridge and it is requested supporters avoid bringing bags where possible, as enhanced searches will be taking place.

'As always, visitors to the stadium should remain vigilant at all times and report any concerns to the nearest steward. The Metropolitan Police has also produced an advisory poster.

'Fulham Road - between Hortensia Road and Harwood Road - will remain closed throughout the match, not re-opening until approximately 5.45pm. Chelsea football club will be demonstrating our solidarity with the victims and those affected by events in Paris throughout Saturday, both within the stadium and across our media platforms. Supporters are asked to take their seats by 2.55pm as the French national anthem, La Marseillaise, will be played ahead of all this weekend's Premier League matches as an act of remembrance.

'Among other activity on the day, we feature the Tricolore on the cover of our matchday programme, which also includes a tribute from France international Kurt Zouma.

'Players will wear black armbands incorporating the French flag and fans in the Matthew Harding Stand will display a new crowd-surfing flag as the teams emerge from the tunnel for the game. We ask for your patience and understanding and thank you in advance for your co-operation.'

Norwich City have also posted the statement on their official site and confirmed for away supporters travelling on official 'Club Canary' coaches the departure time from Carrow Road remains unchanged (Saturday, 9:30am).
