Norwich City midfielder Nathan Redmond was the only England Under-21 player to be included in the European U21 Championships team-of-the-tournament.
Redmond was an ever-present for Gareth Southgate's Young Lions, who failed to qualify from the pool stages at the finals won by Sweden's U21s.
The Canaries' wide player, however, continued his impressive end of the season club form for Norwich which saw him finish as City's top performer in terms of assists and score the crucial second goal in the Championship play-off final win against Middlesbrough at Wembley.
Redmond played in all three of England's qualifying games and signed off with a consolation strike in the 3-1 defeat to Italy's U21s which consigned Southgate's squad to an early exit.
The 21-year-old was joined in the team of the tournament by Portugal's defensive midfielder William Carvalho, who was crowned the individual player of the tournament.
Carvalho missed a crucial penalty in the dramatic shoot-out defeat to the Swedes, but has been touted with a big money summer move to City's Premier League rivals Arsenal.
