Norwich City’s Jonny Howson clocks fastest speed of any Premier League player from opening games
There were few highpoints in the 5-0 defeat to Fulham, but the stats do point to areas of strength in City's game.
Jonny Howson clocked the fastest speed of any Premier League player from the first round of games. He reached 23.12 mph, while another Canary Russell Martin put in the fourth fastest time with 22.74 mph.
Bradley Johnson was one of only three players (along with Wayne Routledge and Marouane Fellaini) in the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index to commit four or more fouls on the opening weekend.
However, Johnson showed he means to start this season as he finished the last, covering more ground than any other Norwich player with 6.15 miles.
QPR will also be looking to bounce back after being on the wrong end of a 5-0 loss in the last game against Swansea. Despite drawing a blank, QPR had 20 attempts at goal, the joint highest in the first round of games after reigning champions Manchester City, led by Adel Taarabt with 7 attempts at goal.
They also attempted the fourth highest number of tackles with 33, led by new signing Fabio de Silva with eight.
New QPR signing Ji Sung Park covered more ground than any other QPR player with 6.2 miles.
