It's official! Jonny Howson has claimed a hat-trick of personal awards to take the edge off Norwich City's bitter Premier League relegation.
Howson was the fans' choice in lifting the prestigious Barry Butler trophy, presented by Barry's widow, Thelma, prior to the Canaries' Carrow Road top flight farewell against Watford.
The midfielder's team-mates then voted him their players' player-of-the-year at the club's end-of-season dinner on Monday and now Howson has come out top with our chief Norwich City correspondent Paddy Davitt in his final end-of-year report on a season to forget.
Paddy has delivered his verdict on all of Alex Neil's frontline troops after watching every minute of the club's disappointing Premier League struggle. Timm Klose and Gary O'Neil also emerged with credit but it proved a frustrating campaign for the likes of Cameron Jerome and summer signing Robbie Brady.

Left out for an 11-game league stretch for the first time in his Norwich career, after what the big man himself admitted was a dip in form. Returned to the side for the run-in but too often let down by the men in front of him when it mattered.

Beneficiary of John Ruddy's mid-season decline. Memorable role in that landmark 2-1 win over Manchester United and a festive upturn, but a touch fortunate to stay on the pitch at Bournemouth and a later rush of blood at Aston Villa signalled his return to the bench.

Rest assured no-one in Norwich's squad will feel the pain from a second relegation in three seasons more than the captain. Allied to Scotland missing out on Euro 2016 this may go down as a season to forget. Missed some key City games on the run-in with a knee injury. Highlight undoubtedly that baby dash and goal at Anfield in a 1-1 September league draw.

Looked a forlorn figure by the bitter end, after his defensive mistakes were heavily punished against Sunderland and Manchester United at Carrow Road. Lost his place in the line-up with the arrival of Timm Klose. No question he can do a job in the Championship but needs to re-discover a level of consistency.

By his own admission, this was Bennett's best season in terms of Premier League involvement at Norwich but apart from the stint alongside Timm Klose he continued to look vulnerable at times. Still yet to really stamp his mark on the first XI at Carrow Road.

Hardly a leap of faith to suggest City's season may have had a happier ending without his knee injury at Crystal Palace. Led by example and inspired those around him in taking seven points from nine ahead of the final act. Klose was not bought for the Championship, but convincing him to give it one shot next season could be better than any piece of summer transfer business.

Olsson's unerring stoppage-time winner to sink Newcastle United, and the epic celebrations in the aftermath, proved one of Norwich's iconic moments of the season. Dipped out of the side to accommodate Robbie Brady for a spell but underlined he is City's best left-back when he was restored to the line-up.

Arguably the only Norwich player who got anywhere near his level on a regular basis. Blossomed when he was restored to central midfield and paired in tandem with Gary O'Neil. Split the former England wide player's season into pre and post injury away at Manchester City in October that kept him out for two-and-a-half months. Never got close to the goalscoring impact he made on a winning debut against Bournemouth when he returned to the ranks.

For whatever reason it just didn't happen for City's January signing, who had been pursued for months before. Goalscoring debut in that bizarre 5-4 defeat to Liverpool but thereafter struggled for fitness and form in a losing cause for his new club. No doubting his pedigree but questions on his future are inevitable.

Bar that rash and needless red card at Stoke City, O'Neil emerged as something as a cult figure with Norwich's fans for his commitment and industry.
Spilt blood for the cause in that painful collision with Robbie Brady against Chelsea and many will hope he still has some role to play in the Championship push.

Few expect him to line up in Norwich colours again in the Championship. Like most of his Norwich career, there was tantalising glimpses of his class, such as the inspirational display in the recent Watford win or his pivotal role at Old Trafford.
