Bradley Johnson insists Norwich City's Championship return has not proved a culture shock.

The combative midfielder is one of a number of Neil Adams' squad who had operated in the second tier before testing themselves against the best in the country in the Premier League era.

City team mate Nathan Redmond revealed during the international break he has been subjected to some rough treatment from Championship rivals but Johnson is adamant the Canaries have proved their mettle in bruising league encounters at places like Brentford and Ipswich.

'We knew going to the likes of Ipswich and Brentford they would be in our faces and it would a lot more physical than perhaps the Premier League. We know what to expect,' he said. 'There are many lads here who have been in this league before and know what it's about and that stands us in good stead.

'I wouldn't say there is much difference in the Championship since I last played in it. Obviously going to Manchester United and Liverpool we know most people expected us to lose. That has changed around in this league and we are the big fish. That gives us a boost to be honest that we are expected to win every game we go into and we've brought that on ourselves with the way we have started.'
