Chris Hughton's Norwich makeover continued yesterday with the signing of Norwegian international midfielder Alexander Tettey and the season-long loan exit of striker James Vaughan to Huddersfield.

Tettey was unveiled last night after agreeing a two year deal from French club Rennes for an undisclosed fee, with City revealing they also hold an option for an additional year.

The 26-year-old becomes Hughton's seventh summer signing, but is not eligible for today's Premier League home opener against QPR.

'I'm very excited to get a chance in the Premier League. Every player watches this league and wants to come and play in it,' Tettey told the club's official site. 'I am looking forward to giving them everything. I've spoken to the manager before I came and he is a nice guy. He explained how he wants to use me and I am pleased to be working with him. I think this is a game that really suits my style of play. The English league is a league of pace and power and it is not that different than the French league.

'I'm very pleased to join Norwich City football club. It's a traditional English club and everybody I have spoken to is very nice. There is a nice atmosphere and I look forward to training and playing games.'

Hughton also sanctioned a move for Vaughan to Championship new boys Huddersfield. The ex-Everton frontman completed a medical on Friday morning and is available for the Terriers' league game against Burnley.

Vaughan had featured prominently during Norwich's early pre-season schedule, but was an unused substitute at Fulham last weekend. The 24-year-old was desperate for regular football after Hughton made it clear his Premier League chances would be limited.

'When we returned for pre-season I knew pretty quickly that if I wanted to play first team football then I was going to have to make a move,' he said. 'Once the season started properly I wasn't involved too much and after speaking to the manager he said that it would probably be a good idea to have a look elsewhere for first-team football. It has been a very quick turnaround but I am here to play first-team football and help the club do well. On a personal note, I want to get some goals as well. I didn't want to go out on a short-term deal; I have done that before and I didn't really want to do it again.'
