Norwich City midfielder Wes Hoolahan has become the fifth international call-up this week for the Canaries after being drafted into the Republic of Ireland squad for the upcoming friendly against Serbia in Belgrade.

Hoolahan is scheduled to meet up with the Irish party in Dublin on Sunday ahead of the game on Wednesday after replacing Everton's Darron Gibson, who has suffered a torn thigh injury.

City's midfield schemer is poised to join John Ruddy, Russell Martin, Robert Snodgrass and Steve Morison on international duty for their respective countries next week - three days before the Premier League opener at Fulham.

Hoolahan missed City's latest midweek friendly at Hull with a minor knock and Chris Hughton confirmed on Friday afternoon the former Shelbourne playmaker was also set to sit out tomorrow's finale against Borussia Monchengladbach, prior to returning to training on Monday.

The 30-year-old was overlooked by Giovanni Trapattoni for Ireland's Euro2012 campaign, but could be in line to win what would be his second full cap after playing in a friendly against Colombia in 2008 early on in the Italian's reign.
