Norwich City's free-scoring midfielder Tony Andreu aims to finish the job and clinch a league and cup double on loan at Scottish Championship outfit Dundee United.
Andreu notched his 17th goal in 28 appearances for the Tangerines in a man-of-the-match display on Saturday to seal the Scottish League Challenge Cup in a 2-1 win over St Mirren.
The 28-year-old has been a revelation at Tannadice in a season-long loan stint and wants to be available for a potential play-off bid, with United chasing promotion to the Scottish top flight.
United host Ayr on Tuesday looking to cement their place in the play-offs, behind Grant Holt's champions-elect Hibernian, who are 10 points clear of second-placed Falkirk, with Dundee United four points further adrift.
'I don't really know the specific details of my (loan) contract,' said Andreu, who has a Carrow Road deal until 2018. 'I will need to find out from Norwich and United. Personally, I would like to keep going and be available for the play-offs. I want to help the club finish the season well.
'We will see what happens and I don't want to speak too much about it just in case but I will probably play in them.'
Andreu, speaking to the Dundee Courier, is confident a cup win can boost their promotion push.
'Hopefully, it can be a pivotal moment for us. We were looking for this,' he said. 'You saw that we played football, went back to basics and tried to keep the ball on the ground. That's what we did and that's a positive. It is very good to win the cup for the club, the players, the coach and the fans.
'It is also, though, going to help us go forward as a team – definitely. We did much better than we had done in our recent games so this could be a turning point.
'We now have Ayr United on Tuesday and our aim has to be to control that game the same way we did for most of the second half in the final. We know that, as long as we are in the top four, we will have a chance of going up. That's the reality, whether we finish second, third or fourth. We will just try to take our chances and produce this type of display.
'When we are strong at the back and can score a few goals, we're not scared about the play-offs even though we know it's going to be hard.'
