Norwich City midfielder Robert Snodgrass will not rush his latest comeback after an injury-hit Premier League campaign.

Canaries' boss Chris Hughton revealed last week the Scottish international is on course to return for the festive period and games against Fulham and Manchester United after a knee injury suffered in training ahead of last month's top flight defeat at Newcastle.

Snodgrass was also knocked out in the Capital One Cup tie at United and missed the Premier League opener at home to Everton following an injury picked up on international duty in a Wembley friendly against England.

The 26-year-old has admitted he is leaving his recovery in the hands of City's medical staff.

'I'm progressing nicely but I don't want to put a timescale on it. I'll leave it to the head physio to tell me when I am ready,' he said. 'We were in training and it was in the warm up the day before the Newcastle game and my leg got caught in the turf and I felt a pop in my knee. We got it scanned and the outcome was four to six weeks. These things happen but I am big enough to just work hard and look forward.'

Snodgrass was in the stands for City's latest weekend league draw against Swansea and the midfielder believes Hughton's side can pick up points over the festive period after being sideliend for some of the tougher away days.

'We feel we have games coming up now where we can do that,' he told the club's official site. 'It is always tough over the Christmas and New Year period. You also have the FA Cup this time of year so we have to maximise the squad. I know the players are ready for the challenge ahead. I'm sure the supporters have not been happy with some of the performances like at Manchester City and Liverpool but we have also picked up some decent results and I think you can see every point is vital in this league.'
