The World Cup hopes of Norwich City midfielder Leroy Fer have been given a boost.
The 23-year-old, who scored his first Premier League goal in City's 3-1 win against West Ham on Saturday, has been called up to Louis van Gaal's Holland squad for two upcoming friendlies.
Fer made his first full international start in October's 2-0 World Cup qualifying victory in Turkey, having previously made two substitute appearances.
He has been added to the Holland squad for a friendly with Japan on Saturday, being played in Belgium, and a home friendly against Columbia on Tuesday.
Fer is joined by Vitesse Arnhem midfielder Davy Propper after Manchester United striker Robin van Persie and Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Clasie pulled out of the squad through injury.
