City midfielder Jacob Butterfield has extended his loan spell at Championship promotion hopefuls Crystal Palace until March 17.

The 22-year-old has made five appearances for the Eagles after a previous short-term stint at Bolton earlier in the campaign. Butterfield endured an injury-hit start to his Norwich career after arriving from Barnsley last summer with a knee probem.

The former England U21 international has so far made three senior outings for the Canaries, the latest in an FA Cup third round win at Peterborough.

Butterfield is one of six Norwich players currently out on loan in the Football League. Tom Adeyemi recently extended his spell at League One club Brentford until the end of the season. Declan Rudd is also at divisional rivals Preston for a similar duration. James Vaughan moved to Championship club Huddersfield on a season-long loan, with Dani Ayala agreeing the same season-long switch to Nottingham Forest. Elliott Ward is also at the City Ground now after moving to the East Midlands for the rest of the current season with a view to a permanent move.
