Graham Dorrans is in Norwich City's squad for Saturday's Championship trip to Brighton, after leaving Elland Road in midweek wearing a protective boot on his left foot following the Canaries' EFL Cup exit.

Ivo Pinto remains the biggest injury doubt after missing the last two games with a groin injury. Alex Neil confirmed at his pre-match press call on Friday afternoon the full-back is continuing to be assessed but Russell Martin is poised to deputise again if the Portuguese international misses out.

Steven Whittaker, Youssouf Mulumbu and Matt Jarvis are back in light training but will not be considered for the trip to the south-coast.

'Ivo will be a late call,' said Neil. 'I wouldn't say he is fully-recovered but he is in a much, much better place than where he was. We have done a little bit with him so that is why he is touch and go. You want all your strongest players on the pitch and the way he has performed this season he would certainly be on the pitch. With Graham that was precautionary (wearing the boot). He is fine.

'Youssouf and Matt are making good progress. Both are getting their fitness levels up, they are out on the grass doing a bit of work. Basically on the road to recovery. It is just really a case of monitoring things rather than working to a timeline. Any setback can delay these things by a week or two. Providing they don't have any I would like to think sooner rather than later.

'Steven has had a hernia in the past. He had a mesh put in and he just needed that fixed a little bit, some of it removed. That is what happened and he is out on the grass and it is really a short recovery time. He'll be available soon.'

Neil accepts Norwich must cut out the recent basic errors if they are to halt a Brighton side who have gone eight league games unbeaten.

'The difficulty we've got just now is it's coming from individual mistakes, from different individuals,' he said. 'That's a bit unusual so it's certainly something we've done a bit of work on. We've been speaking about it and need to see an improvement. If we want to be at the top end of the league, as the season progresses, we can't rely on the players at the top-end of the pitch to score two or three goals a game. We're going to have to start keeping some clean sheets.

'The players know they've done wrong. They recognise errors as soon as they're made, it's basically about stopping it so we're drilling them on that. 'At times as players that's not something you like doing, but it's something we have to do until it improves. We're doing that at the moment, and it will continue that way.'
