Norwich City's Under-10 boys team crowned an impressive season with victory at the East Region Championships at Harleston.
City won their group with four wins, beating Hertford and Old Loughtonians 1-0 and Saffron Walden and Bury St Edmunds 3-0, with Charlie Hutchinson, Ryan Gray, Kit Pallister and Arthur Butterworth all featuring on the scoresheet.
City went on to play Blueharts from Hitchin in the semi-finals and it went to penalty strokes, with Ollie Ford making the crucial save.
The final was another close match against the Hertford team that City narrowly beat in the opening group game. With chances at both ends, and Ford excellent in goal, the final ended 0-0 and again Ford made the crucial saves in the shoot-out.
City coach Pete Morgan said: 'It is a fantastic achievement by the boys, the result of all their hard work and boundless enthusiasm throughout the season, during which they have developed as an exciting attacking team. It bodes well for the future.'
