Loan star Dieumerci Mbokani is the man to spearhead Norwich City's attack once the international break is complete, according to Canaries supporters.

The hulking frame of the Dynamo Kiev loanee has sufficiently impressed City fans enough to attract 79pc of votes in an online poll held at the EDP's award-winning website www.pinkun.com.

The 29-year-old, who is away on international duty with the Democratic Republic of Congo during the break, came off the bench to score his first Canaries goal on Saturday.

Mbokani replaced winger Matt Jarvis as Alex Neil took a more direct approach in trying to overhaul Leicester City's 2-0 lead at Carrow Road.He was introduced in the 59th minute and very nearly opened his Norwich account eight minutes later when he got his head to a cross from Robbie Brady, only to see a combination of Kasper Schmeichel's glove and the crossbar deny him.

The former Wolfsburg and Anderlecht front-man was not to be denied though, deftly flicking home a Jonny Howson cross a minute later to make the score 2-1.

His bustling efforts were not enough to help force an equaliser but were enough to persuade City supporters that he is now ready for his first Premier League start.

Only five teams have scored more goals than Neil's side so far in the Premier League but just one goal so far from last season's promotion hero Cameron Jerome has prompted plenty of debate.
