Norwich City defender Martin Olsson City came through his biggest test tonight since shoulder surgery in the summer.
The left-back played the full 90 minutes for Sweden in their 1-0 European Championship qualifying defeat against Russia in Moscow.
Olsson went under the knife in May and since then had played just 45 minutes for City's Under-21s.
Sweden are back in action on Tuesday when they host Austria.
Development Squad midfielder Cameron King was a substitutes for Scotland's Under-21s who beat Northern Ireland 2-1. King played the last five minutes of the game.
