City boss Paul Lambert said he is looking forward to the Premier League challenge after the release of the fixture lists.
Lambert's first game as a top flight manager will be at Wigan on the opening day.
'Whoever we were going to face in the opening game we knew it was going to be a really tough and that is the way it will be in the Premier League, really, really tough games,' he said.
'Everyone at the football club will be looking forward to it and I'm sure we'll take a massive support up there with us on the opening day.
'Roberto Martinez has done a great job there and I'm sure it'll be a great game.
'You look at back-to-back away games at Manchester United and Liverpool in October and that just shows the level we've worked hard to get to. We've earned the right to be here – it is a great challenge and exciting times for the club and the fans.'
