Chris Hughton felt a sense of injustice at the manner of Norwich's 2-1 Premier League defeat to West Brom which ended their club record top flight unbeaten run at the Hawthorns on Saturday.

Romelu Lukaku towered above Javier Garrido to despatch Goran Popov's diagonal ball in the 82nd minute after Zoltan Gera had cancelled out Robert Snodgrass' superb free kick a minute before the interval.

Gera pounced from close range to despatch Jonas Olsson's header from Chris Brunt's corner after Mark Bunn could only divert Olsson's header against his bar - a set-peice Hughton was adamant should not have been awarded in Albion's favour following a headed duel between Alex Tettey and James Morrison.

'The first goal was frustrating because they are a threat from set pieces,' he said. 'I was disappointed in the fact that it shouldn't have been a corner in the first place. That was my feeling at the time and having seen it again, it was a goal kick and not a corner. So, frustrated by that and the timing of the goal. It gave them a lift.'

Hughton still felt his men were full value for a battling point at the Hawthorns before Chelsea's on-loan striker Lukaku's aerial prowess sunk the Canaries.

'Yes, I think we should have got a point out of that on the balance of play,' he said. 'They are a very good footballing side, they are the home side, so you know they will have periods of good possession but I felt we enjoyed some decent periods as well. I think if you look at what you regard clear-cut chances there were not many - perhaps apart from the goals there was the similar chance when Steve Morison and Lukaku were put through. I thought it was a fairly even game. As the away team we had fairly decent possession.'
