Norwich City's recent Wolves loan signing Sam Vokes will be available to make his Canaries' Championship debut against Scunthorpe this weekend – despite a potential season-ending injury to Wanderers frontman Kevin Doyle.
The Premier League strugglers confirmed Doyle has been ruled out for between four to eight weeks after suffering medial knee ligament damage on international duty for the Republic of Ireland on Saturday.
Vokes and Liverpool youngster Dani Pacheco joined Norwich last week on emergency loan deals until the end of the current season but under Football League rules the parent club is unable to exercise a recall until the first 28 days have elapsed.
Wanderers officials are hopeful Doyle could even be back in a month to spearhead their fight for top flight survival if he responds well to treatment.
