Norwich City transfer rumours: Palace to bid £10m for Canaries ace

Crystal Palace are reportedly preparing a £10m bid for Norwich City right-back Max Aarons – and presumably also preparing for it to be turned down.
Mirror journalist John Cross suggested Palace - fresh from losing their own highly-rated Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United for £50m - will make their move for City's 19-year-old academy product as his replacement "as they try to steal a march on Tottenham, who are also admirers of the England prospect".
Cross adds the caveat Norwich "may feel the opening bid is too low and will not be entertained" - which would be inevitable given City's own valuation of the player and his current contract, tying him down to Carrow Road until the summer of 2023.
It's also worth bearing in mind City sold James Maddison for well in excess of £20m to Leicester last summer, off the back of a similar impact - albeit then in a struggling Norwich side confined to Championship midtable.
In the same report, Premier League Palace are also said to have rejected Arsenal's £40m bid for talismanic forward Wilfried Zaha "insisting the money is not enough" with the Eagles "clearly determined to improve their squad after losing Wan-Bissaka".
Aarons made his professional debut in August last season and never looked back - making 43 appearances, scoring three goals and creating far more - earning his Championship title medal and shot at the Premier League with City in the process.
Sporting director Stuart Webber is already on record stating the Canaries have no need to sell anyone this summer ahead of their top-flight return, although money is tight in terms of potential new recruits.
