Remi Matthews has been training with parent club Norwich City this week and may miss Plymouth's game on Saturday due to his new-born daughter undergoing tests in hospital.
The Canaries keeper has been a key part of Argyle's play-off chase in League One but missed his loan club's 2-1 home win over Peterborough on Saturday as he had returned home to Norfolk for the birth of his first child.
The 24-year-old, originally from Gorleston, revealed on Instagram that he and wife Lauren had welcomed Gracie May to the world earlier this week.
However, Plymouth boss Derek Adams has now revealed Matthews may have to miss Saturday's home game against Portsmouth.
'He trained with Norwich the other day and he will train with them this morning (Thursday),' Adams told the Plymouth Herald. 'I'm unsure if he will be back tonight.
'His baby is back in hospital for further tests. We are in constant dialogue between each other.'
