Amongst the satisfied celebrations of the home side at Carrow Road was a Bournemouth side left wondering what had hit them.

Early chants of 'champions' from the visiting fans seemed rather silly by full-time, after the Cherries had been blown away by a team who had been unable to stop them winning the Championship title last season.

Disappointed winger Matt Ritchie admitted the visitors had not deserved any points but was already trying to switch his focus to Saturday's home clash with Sunderland.

'We didn't hit the standards that we set this season so very disappointed but we'll move on quickly and concentrate on Saturday,' the Scotland international said.

'It was just one of those things where we didn't quite click and never really got going, so very disappointing, but it's how we react now.

'It's a great strength of ours that if we do have a disappointment we bounce back from it quickly and make sure we get our heads down, work hard and get back to what we do best.'

The loss left the Cherries with four points from their opening five matches since promotion, three less than City have managed.

It seemed a sobering afternoon for Eddie Howe's team but Ritchie insisted a defeat to the Canaries was no more painful than any other top-flight defeat.

'It's early days, obviously the media will be saying it's a six-pointer and it's the three clubs that have come up (who are likely to go down) but that's not how we look at it,' the 26-year-old said.

'There are 20 teams in the Premier League and we're competing with every one of them, it's not just the three teams which have come up at all. We earned the right to be here and it's one game that we've not performed so we'll review it and put it right.'
