Edin Dzeko got Manchester City off to a flying start with two goals in the opening five minutes – but admitted the rest was uncomfortable for the defending Premier League champions.

'After the sending-off I wasn't surprised Norwich were still in it in injury time, because it is hard to play with one player less,' said the Bosnian striker. 'But we did it once before at West Bromwich where we did very well, and today as well I think we deserved this win.

'I think Norwich played a good game and they were always there, and I think it was a hard game to play in. And when the manager took me off it was hard to watch the last 10 minutes. But we're happy with the win.'

While the visitors' fourth was an own goal credited to 'keeper Mark Bunn, Dzeko left Carrow Road clutching the match ball and determined to claim his hat-trick.

'That's my opinion and I think it is yours as well,' he added with a smile.
