An injury worry for striker Jordan Rhodes detracted from a comfortable victory against League One side Luton Town as Norwich City played their penultimate pre-season friendly.

First half goals from Grant Hanley, Rhodes and Teemu Pukki fired the Canaries into a deserved 3-0 lead at the break at Kenilworth Road.

However the sight of Rhodes hobbling off in the 20th minute was the talking point. The loanee charged into a block in midfield, with his team already cruising at 2-0, and came off the worse for it after the ball blasted against his ankle and left him with a sore jaw as well.

The 28-year-old had scored his second goal of pre-season, from the spot after a fine run from the impressive Ben Marshall was brought to an end by a foul, but hobbled off after treatment. The hosts pulled one back before Pukki also hobbled off after a late tackle in the 70th minute – to the annoyance of head coach Daniel Farke – but looked to be okay.
