'Todd plays a pretty important role in my plans' - Loan switch imminent for City starlet Cantwell

Daniel Farke has confirmed a loan spell is imminent for academy starlet Todd Cantwell following the recent arrival of four attacking players.
The 19-year-old playmaker made his Canaries first-team debut recently, during City’s FA Cup third round replay defeat to Chelsea on penalties.
However, after the recent signings of fellow attacking midfielders Onel Hernandez, Moritz Leitner and Marcus Edwards, a loan move to Dutch second tier side Fortuna Sittard is in the offing.
“I really like him very much and he was never as close to the first team as he is at the moment,” Farke said of the Norfolk-born talent.
“As I’ve said before, I don’t give away any presents or gifts but I brought him on the pitch during a really difficult game at Chelsea – that’s proof that I really trust him and I want to support him.
“He was pretty close. If we are really honest, now we have three signings for the offense and we have Marcus Edwards as well – don’t forget him – so four signings.
“So perhaps it makes it more difficult for Todd to get each and every game with 90 minutes in our squad.”
Sittard currently top the Eerste Divisie, with 14 wins from 21 games to put them in the driving seat for promotion to the top flight.
Arsenal have previously been linked with interest in Cantwell – under contract until 2019, with the club having the option of a further year – who has featured as an unused substitute regularly for City recently and has scored seven goals in 18 games for the under-23s so far this season.
“We have the feeling with him that at this age, to come into a good rhythm and play each and every game with a lot of minutes and if it’s possible to do it on a higher level – with all respect for our under-23s – a proper senior squad with a hard competition, it could help,” Farke continued.
“We are also thinking about a foreign country because it’s good for the development of his personality. So we have the feeling it could be good for Todd to be away for four or five months, to have a lot of experience, to get a lot of minutes at a proper level in a senior squad that helps him to be in a good shape for the summer. But Todd plays a pretty important role in my plans for the summer.”
